Wild child

It's officially spring in Bermtopia. I've survived yet another winter without breaking an ankle or killing a kitten.

Don't judge. These are important landmarks in winter survival here in the scablands of  eastern Washington.

But yesterday -- the first day of spring. Oh my.

We were blown, besotted, buffeted, becalmed and boomed upon with wind, rain, thunder and sun, each element fighting vigorously to be the most brilliant force in our day. Ferocious squalls of weather roiled across the city all day, first dousing us, then beaming on us, much like a toddler recovering from a tearful temper tantrum.

But by 7 p.m., the skies turned a heart-breaking blue,  clouds racing across the horizon by propelled by a power of physics I don't think I want to understand.

Ah, March. You are a wild, restless child.

  1. Congratulations on surviving winter! You're such a trooper. Now, if you're like the rest of the world, you'll be in for some unpredictable weather come Spring. So much to look forward to since we mucked up Mother Nature.
