The news from When Pigs Fly Farm 3.0

The When Pigs Fly Farm Scoreboard Report for May-June is in.

WPFF 2 - BERMTOPIA 1

Here's the scoring breakdown:

Radishes - 1: What is up with THAT? Every kindergartener in the American public school system can grow a radish as a class project, but I can't at the Farm? This is getting embarrassing.

I dug all my radishes up last weekend. The greens were scary post-apocalyptic in size and going to seed. And the radishes were nothing more than wizened troll-like nobs of bleck.
This was and never will be a radish.
Don't try to tell me otherwise.

I guess you could say, I am nothing but consistent considering radishes were a disaster the first year I gardened at WPFF. I didn't even bother last year.

But, hey, I'm a sucker for punishment. I planted a new row this weekend.

Bamboo teepees - 1: We've never gotten along -- from the very first time I tried to erect a teepee to now -- when they topple over at the slightest provocation. I mean, 35- to 40 MPH wind gusts?

C'mon. Buck up, buttercup.

Bermtopia - 1: Ha! Try toppling now, bamboo teepees. . . now that I've installed my uber top secret, high tech system of garden staples criss-crossed over each at super strategic places at the base of each teepee. You have remained upright for 48 hours in spite of yourselves -- a new record.

Revenge is a dish best served cold.

  1. You are surely the world's most funny gardener. How are you? Hope all is well at the farm with you and Ben. At least it's now warm enough to grow bad radishes x

  2. That's EXACTLY what my onions did. They were in forever and all I got were knobs.
